Meet the Team

Chapin Hemphill

Founder and President

Company founder Chapin Hemphill decided to launch Keyrenter Boise (a Keyrenter franchise), which is his third Keyrenter franchise. Chapin founded Keyrenter Silicon Valley (KSV) in 2015 and built a successful property management firm from the ground up. KSV consistently was a top franchise performer, especially with profit per unit.

This was no small feat considering California’s high regulation and strict real estate compliance. On February 28, 2021, KSV was successfully sold at a premium multiple. This was largely due to the company’s outstanding pivot during COVID in 2020. Based on foresight on how the property management industry was evolving, KSV was set up as a company that could operate remotely from the beginning, and relied heavily on automation of processes and workflows. The transition to contactless property management was a very graceful one for KSV, and ultimately paved the way for explosive growth in 2020.

Chapin Hemphill is the Co-Founder and President of Keyrenter New England (KNE), which launched in June 2019. Chapin’s partnership with Megan O’Leary began in 2008 when Megan was an apartment manager for a 200 unit apartment complex in Anaheim CA, and Chapin was hired as the property’s regional manager. A strong relationship based on trust was formed. Megan assisted Chapin when he launched KSV, and the time and opportunity came for Megan to own her first business. KNE was born. In the past 2 years, KNE has grown into a top-tier property management company in the Manchester NH area.

Since 2018, Chapin Hemphill has served on the Franchise Brand Development Committee, essentially the Advisory Council to the Franchise. Chapin’s connection to the Keyrenter Brand is a strong and undeniable one.

Prior to his involvement in Keyrenter Franchise, Chapin Hemphill spent 19 years working in the property management and real estate industries. He has an extensive background in property management and has overseen high-level real estate operations for large corporate entities since 2001. Chapin’s experiences constitute a well-rounded perspective of the real estate industry. His experience includes strategic management of operations and growth of over $4.5 billion multi-family real estate portfolios, oversight of approximately $400 million in value-add renovations, real estate transactions, underwriting, asset management, affordable housing, trust deed lending, real estate budgeting, financial analysis, leadership, marketing, training, inspections, communication, corporate leadership, and team management.

As part of the Keyrenter Franchise, we leverage the power of a nation-wide network of property managers and the support from our corporate team for things like tenant screening, website development, training on best practices, surpassing industry benchmarks, and more.
